The New Artisan exists to help young design talent gain opportunities in the burgeoning Oriental market. It is about blending old and new – traditional and often niche craft meets a very modern economic opportunity and a brand-new audience.

The New Artisan was founded by two UK-based Chinese who share a love for high-end handicrafts and lament the increasing loss of centuries-old traditions for meticulous, skilful methods of creating such works. They set out to find the artisans of today – the New Artisans – with the passion to continue these arts. Together they decided to establish an innovative platform for bringing together designers and Chinese customers, creating a commercial opportunity in handicraft that its exponents through the centuries could never have imagined.
The New Artisan has high regards for original creativity and wants to support more emerging designers and artisans offering unique brands. We are passionate in seeking talented designers for products to expose to the growing Chinese e-commerce market.
